Standard dimensions of astro pitches are fully dependent on the field, possibilities and desires of the investors. There is not a common standard applied in this area. However, the most popular dimensions are as follows: 20*40=800 m2 , 25*40=1000 m2 , 25*45=1125 m2 , 30*50=1500 m2.
Open Astro Pitches:
Open astro pitches are surrounded with iron posts at sides. The spaces between the posts are surrounded partly with wire mesh and partly with netting. Top of the pitch is also completely enclosed with netting.
Some of the features applied for the wire meshes used for enclosing the sides of astro pitches:
• 5×5 loop distance
• 3.6 mm thickness
• Galvanized – Normal
• PVC coated
Closed Astro Pitches:
Closed pitches can be built in two types as Tarpaulin Covered Pitches and Roofed Pitches. The reason for the development of closed pitch is protecting the game from external effects such as rain and snow. After the ground application is completed, reinforced perimeter concrete is poured with dimensions 50-70 for tarpaulin covered pitches and 50-140 for Roofed Pitches. During pouring, anchorages and water drainage pipes are also placed.
Floor Covering and Certain Stages of Covering Application:
Artificial turf of Ø
Rubber tartan of Ø as a floor covering
Reinforced concrete tartan of Ø as a ground application
Acrylic floor covering of Ø
After a project in compliance with standards and environmental and climate conditions is developed, horizontal, vertical and crosswise bar welding works are carried out. The frame is painted with antirust against corrosion. Afterwards, the paint desired is applied. Roofed pitches are covered with materials such as corrugated steel, ondoline or metal sheet based on the environmental conditions and desires of the investors. Sides of the pitch are kept open or enclosed by transparent materials.
Astro Pitches Covered with Artificial Turf: The biggest advantage of artificial turf is that it requires no maintenance. The pitch has a green appearance throughout the year without the need of performing any maintenance.
Advantages offered by artificial turf
• Lower traction
• Comfortable sliding tackles
• Excellent design for ease of movement
• Softened surface with sand and rubber
• Conformity to ball bouncing norms
• Lower risk of injury due to fall
• High resistance to UV rays
• Aesthetical appearance |
